Sound the alarm! Alert the town crier! Taylor Swift has embraced the pantless trend, and she did it right at Bradley Cooper’s house in Greenwich Village. Swift, along with Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman, gathered at the Oscar winner’s residence, and Taylor decided to give this latest trend a whirl.
Even though it’s a warm 75-degree day in New York, Taylor Swift appeared ready for the first day of fall on a picturesque college campus. She sported a Stella McCartney rugby shirt, wearing it as a minidress. The black long-sleeve shirt landed midway down her thigh and featured two slits on each side. A white V-neck collar and McCartney’s “Pony Club” emblem on the chest, featuring a horse’s head and horseshoe embroidered in gold, added a touch of prep appeal.
Swift completed her look with knee-high chestnut boots, a tan leather crossbody bag with gold hardware from Tod’s, and her signature tan Ralph Lauren baseball cap, lending a low-key vibe to the ensemble. (With two animal logos in one outfit, Swift joins the ranks of fashionable horse enthusiasts, along with McCartney, Kendall Jenner, and Bella Hadid).
The singer is the latest celebrity to embrace the pantless trend. Gisele Bündchen tested the waters during New York Fashion Week by sporting an oversized denim jacket without bottoms. Emma Corrin confidently rocked the minimalist Miu Miu briefs both on and off the runway. And, of course, Kendall Jenner, the trend’s most fervent supporter, has previously showcased a preppy variation of the style with oversized button-ups, boxy blazers, and loafers. While Jenner’s approach to prep leans towards the “just woke up in an Ivy League dorm room” aesthetic, Taylor Swift’s take exudes a vibe more akin to “left my jodhpurs at the stable.” It’s refreshing to see how a style lacking a key element can still harmonize with various personal fashion statements.
